Devon Cricket League 1st XI B division Tavistock 158-9, Ivybridge 159-3. Ivybridge (19 points) beat Tavistock (four) by seven wickets

Ivybridge moved within a stone's throw of the promotion places with an excellent win over B division leaders Tavistock at Filham Park. Tavistock, who batted first, were restricted to what was always likely to be a sub-par total of 158-9 thanks to some tight bowling. Spinner Pete Abraham picked up 3-20, Soloman took 3-22 and De Silva 3-27 in a superb whole-team effort. In reply, Ivybridge had little trouble knocking off the runs, 40 from Johnson, 38 from De Silva and Perrera 's 24 giving them victory by seven wickets. Tomorrow sees Ivybridge travel to Bideford who sit two places and just three points ahead in second place. Before the match, all involved with the club took part in a moving tribute to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War.
