Dartmouth 2,

Teign 0

Dartmouth started this semi-final cup game at their usual furious pace.

Within minutes, Jamie Rendle on the right sent a ball into the D for captain Lucy Pillar to slam home.

Unfortunately, the umpire judged it to be a lifted ball into the D and disallowed the goal.

Not to be deterred, Dartmouth carried on piling on the pressure, Teign barely getting a look-in despite their first-team player.

The girls were finally rewarded when Sarah Barrett sent a cracking ball into Lucy Pillar, who rounded the last defender and smashed the ball past the 'keeper.

The home side fought back but any attacks were thwarted by goalie Ellie Malley and the back three of Chloe Edwards, Chelsey Rendle and Hannah Pillar.

Dartmouth kept up the tempo, and with some interesting umpiring decisions going against them, Lucy Pillar managed to get herself carded and then duly sent off just before the half time whistle.

With just 10 players on the pitch, Dartmouth kept their discipline and continued playing the ball around the Teign defence until half time.

With Lucy Pillar still off, the second half got under way with the Teign 'keeper thwarting Darts' efforts.

When Lucy came back on, the constant pressure was finally rewarded.

The ball was crossed in from Lisa Hunt on the right wing for Lucy Pillar to pounce on, only for the goal to be disallowed, the umpire taking it back to a foot in the D and awarding a short corner which Dartmouth failed to convert.

Teign valiantly fought back but Dartmouth's solid midfield and defence kept them at bay.

Player of the match Hannah Pillar, mopping up at the back, kept sending balls out to Mandy Servan and Darcey Wall.

Both had some great attacking runs down the left wing, but Dartmouth were unable to convert the crosses.

Sam Webb, back from her travels, was straight back into her stride, playmaking in the middle and cutting out key Teign players.

Another wave of Dartmouth attacks came and the girls got their well-deserved second goal.

From a long corner, Jamie Rendle passed the ball to Siobhan Edwards at the top of the D. She in turn found Lucy, who slotted it neatly past the 'keeper.

With five minutes left on the clock, Dartmouth remained in control and continued to wear down the Teign defence and earn their place in the final, to be played on April 11.

Dartmouth are back in action against Teign again in a fortnight.
