FORTY-two ladies were in the field on Thursday, August 20, competing for the Allcomers Cup at Thurlestone Golf Club.
Zoe Lepere (pictured) prevailed to the claim the title with 39 points, finishing just ahead of Pam St Leger and Kate Banks by just one point. There were three birdie twos from Heather Spencer, Tess Brownill and Jane Walker.
Meanwhile, Thurlestone juniors had 10 entries in the Summer Cup competition, won by Jack Neale. His nett 62 was matched by Leo Willmott but Jack won on countback and Will Dalby was one back. Mason Seward had the only two.
Both the President’s and Sheelah Creasy teams were in quarter-final action and faced differing fates.
The former performed well to reach a second consecutive semi whereas the latter crossed paths with a strong Saunton team and came out second best. Well done to both teams for their respective progress.
They now await to hear how The Devon League team has fared.
Thanks go to everyone who came out and supported The Singing Extravaganza on July 17 - what a wonderful evening was had by all! The singing was absolutely awesome and the buffet meal was fantastic. Huge thank yous from captain Heather Spencer to everyone who helped make the evening the success it most certainly was.
Lastly, there was a big field of 58 on Sunday for the Prowse Salver. This trophy competition is open to all members who have submitted a minimum of three cards in the last 12 months.
With a nett 67, Darrell Day was victorious and once again, the scores were particularly tight. Hot on his heels, both shooting a 68, were Robert Hyde and Dan Cunningham.
There were eight birdie twos so congratulations go to Jonathan Acton , Matt Barlow, Dan Cunningham, Garth Gregory, Nick Jenkins, James Mitchell, Kevin Rogers, and Chris Watt.
