The men held their Daily Mail Foursomes qualifier on Saturday in very cold weather with 10 pairs entered writes Liz Line

The winners with 39 points were Ashley Crow and Matthew Reed, from James Mitchell and James Toogood who had 35 points. In third place were Dan Cunningham and Robert Hyde also with 35 points.

There was only one two, by James Mitchell and James Toogood on the 6th hole.

The men’s Medal competition on Sunday only attracted 21 entries as it was bitterly cold with very strong winds.

This weather was reflected in the scores, with Division one winner James Mitchell (3) scoring net 73, from Darrell Day (4) with net 76, and Pete Eva (5) with net 77.

In division two Ronald Plumridge (15) won with net 83.

There were four twos and Mark Chapman had a good day with two of them on the 13th and 17th holes.

He was joined by Darrell Day on the fifth and Rob Came also on the 17th.
