KM United under 10s welcomed Broadmeadow to a sunny Sunday morning at Malborough.
With Will Kovacic and Ian Mcdonald in their third season of coaching this good attacking and passing team, it was little surprise Ethan Mcdonald fired KM in to an early lead.
KM have been known to be slow starters, so it was great to see them double the lead with a first-time shot from Ben Eatwell.
This was quickly followed by his second after some neat footwork down the right wing, and 3-0 with 15 minutes gone was well-deserved.
Broadmeadow looked stunned but hit back with a penalty.
KM could have wobbled at this point but not on this day, with shots continuing to rain in.
It was not long before Eatwell fired a cross in to Mcdonald for his second goal of the game.
Charlie Rogers played some lovely passes through to the wingers to set up more KM attacks, while in goal Kieron Alston, playing his first competitive match, pulled off a fine double save.
Eatwell fired in two goals in quick succession and a run from the halfway line by Mcdonald ended in a goal for a half time score of 7-1.
The good passing continued in the second half from Ryan Hayman, but Broadmeadow kept going and pulled a goal back out of the blue, with Alston unlucky not to keep it out. A penalty for KM saw Gracie Procter step up and fire high in to the corner for her first goal of the season.
Another for Eatwell and Kovacic’s first all followed in quick succession to make it 10-2.
Kovacic was hungry for more and fired in two more to complete his hat-trick, while Rogers’ hard worked paid off with a well-deserved goal, a lovely shot from the edge of the box sailing in to the far corner.
With the final whistle approaching Kovacic popped up with a thumping shot to make the final score 14-2.
Man of the match went to Kieron Alston for an impressive first game between the sticks.
KM would like to thank JMV property maintenance for their shirt sponsorship this season.
