PERHAPS the most intriguing clash of the Devon Football League weekend pitted Ipplepen Athletic against Dartmouth AFC at Moor Road.

After a goalless first-half, Harry Madge popped up with a brace to ensure that the home side took all three points, sending Dartmouth home empty-handed.

Prior to kick-off, Ipplepen were nine points behind their opponents for the weekend having played twice more than them as well so this success helps to close the gap.

This is also revenge for the Premier Cup defeat they suffered against Dartmouth back in November, that one ending 4-1 at Longcross.

In early April, the reverse league matchup will reignite this rivalry.

Elsewhere in the DFL, Plymouth Marjon beat Plymstock United 6-0, Appledore won 3-1 against Budleigh Salterton and there were away wins for Boca Seniors and Beer Albion.

Dartmouth sit eighth currently and will head to Exeter Uni for the next round of the Premier Cup.
