Dartmouth AFC continued their preseason training by playing host to Torquay United at Longcross last Friday.

The Gulls took a healthy tow-goal lead into the break, but Dartmouth showed their mettle by scoring twice themselves in the second half to level matters and give their illustrious neighbours a fright.

First Liam McAuley converted a penalty then Stephen Bowker rifled home a shot to bring the Gulls down to earth with a bang as the crowd celebrated.

In the end the in-form Gulls striker Ashley Yeoman scored four goals to help his side to a 5-2 victory, but this was still a fine performance by Dart­mouth and if they keep this form up they will prove a tough team to beat when the South Dev­on League gets back under way once more.
