South Devon Football League Division Three Ronald Cup semi-final East Allington Reserves 0, South Brent 2

SOUTH Brent will meet Bovey Tracey Reserves in the final of the Ronald Cup after a superb 2-0 victory away at East Allington Reserves on Saturday.Brent's first final for several years will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 7.30pm at Coach Road, Newton Abbot.A stunning free-kick from Lee Soper and Simon Parsons's first goal for the club secured Brent's place in the final against a Bovey side who trounced Moretonhampstead 7-1 in the other semi.East Allington made the brighter start to the game, forcing two early corners in the first five minutes which the Brent defence dealt with comfortably. The match was a bit of a stalemate for the next 30 minutes as neither team seemed to be able to penetrate the stout defences. The best both teams could do was a couple of half chances apiece.Five minutes from half-time the best move of the game ended with Neil Vinecombe rounding the home 'keeper only to fire wide of the mark.In the second half, Brent made the better start and earned an early corner, but the chance was cleared by the defence.Brent made a substitution 30 minutes from the end bringing on prolific goalscorer Lee Soper.Within 10 minutes of coming on he was celebrating after he smashed a free-kick from the edge of the box into the top corner.Brent then laid siege to the home goal and were rewarded with defender Simon Parsons's first goal for the club since he joined seven years ago.He met Matt Reed's left-wing corner with an unstoppable header to seal Brent's cup final place.South Brent have a man-of-the-match trophy for every game, which manager John Parsons awarded to Damien LeGal for his tireless and impressive display.
