Harbour House has marked 2025 as a year of creativity, connection, and community engagement, delivering a wide range of free arts opportunities for people across Devon.
Over the past year, Harbour House delivered 94 free workshops and events, engaging 1,701 participants. Working closely with community partners, the organisation focused on providing workshops for individuals facing the greatest barriers to accessing the arts.

The programme featured film and digital photography, mindful and intuitive movement, Indian Kathak dance, clay sculpture making, and more. Alongside these workshops, Harbour House hosted performances by community members as well as performances from the leading contemporary South Asian dance and music company Sonia Sabri Company. Many sessions were delivered in smaller, targeted group settings, allowing for deeper engagement and meaningful creative experiences.
In addition to workshops and performances, Harbour House hosted six exhibitions in its gallery throughout 2025. Exhibitions showcased a wide variety of artistic media, including large-scale painting by Llyr Davies and Jai Chuhan, wearable sculptures by Ashanti Hare, small-scale paintings by Ben Sanderson, children’s artwork from Holiday Club participants, and artwork by sixth formers from Kingsbridge Community College.

A highlight was a dedicated community exhibition celebrating the collaborative relationship between artists and community groups. This exhibition featured works by Jodie Saunders, Ellie Robinson-Carter, and Sam Machell, alongside contributions from workshop participants, including film and sound pieces. Harbour House also highlighted the creativity of its visitors, featuring masks, drawings, flower pressing, and postcards, reinforcing the gallery as a space that belongs to everyone.
Harbour House Director, Amy Dickson, said: "2025 has been an extraordinary year for Harbour House. Our workshops, exhibitions, and performances have brought people together, encouraged creativity, and ensured that the arts remain accessible to all. We are deeply grateful to our community, partners, and funders for making this possible, and we look forward to continuing this work in 2026."

Harbour House acknowledges the support of its funders: Henry Moore Foundation, Arts Council England, and The National Health Lottery, whose generosity enables the delivery of free creative opportunities to communities across Devon.
