I was astounded at the comments made by Cllr Coles regarding Woofstock and the organiser, Heather Nesbitt. Woofstock was a wonderful day, visited by many people and their dogs in a stunning location, Chronicle, August 11.

I have been told by many of my family and friends that they like Dartmouth and surrounding areas because they welcome and embrace dogs.

I was privileged to be able to help on one of the stalls at Woolfstock and did not hear one negative comment. At the end of the day, when we packed up, we ensured that there was no litter left and I am sure this was repeated throughout.

As regards the comments made about Ms Nesbitt, I attended an event the evening before where Ms Nesbitt gave a presentation and I was impressed with her dedication and commitment to the charity Animal Asia.

While there, Peter Egan, the actor, who is an active supporter of the charity, skyped Ms Nesbitt and it was obvious that he knew her quite well as there was lighthearted banter between them.

I am puzzled by Cllr Coles’s comments that Ms Nesbitt was “not the right sort of person” to run it. What does she mean?
