For the second consecutive year, the unique tail-wagging, foot-stomping festival that is Woofstock UK is returning to Dartmouth.
The festival will be offering a day out with a difference to four-legged visitors and their two-legged companions in what will be the fourth Woofstock UK outing.
On Saturday, August 4, Coronation Park will be rocking to the sound of live music, while dogs strut their stuff in the showring and spectators enjoy a variety of demonstrations, including agility, the new doggy sport of hoopers and the ever-popular Devon and Cornwall Police Dog Training School.
There will be awards for top dogs in a number of categories, but there is a treat in store for every dog in the shape of an organic, edible entrance ticket.
Winners of a competition for the UK’s best dog-friendly day out in 2017, Woofstock UK finds a natural home in a town that is renowned for welcoming dogs.
“We’re delighted to be back in Dartmouth,” said Woofstock UK founder and organiser Heather Nesbitt. “2017 was a great success – attendance was incredible and the town was buzzing.”
The action starts at 10am with Countess Bathurst, a devoted owner of five dogs, opening the festival. Among a diverse mix of trade stands, there will be tasters and fun things to do, with the inflatable pub once again keeping humans happy and the Wag and Sniff Inn serving pawsecco and dog beer to canine customers.
Ticket prices remain the same as last year: £6 for adults and £4 for children on the gate, and cheaper if purchased online in advance.
Every penny made at this year’s event will be donated to Animals Asia, Dogs on the Street and local animal rescue centre Animals in Distress.
