It was lovely to see your recent article on the brilliant young local National Hunt jockey Bryony Frost who has had such a successful 12 months, and to see that she and her father Jimmy are to lead the Walk for Widecombe event.

However, I am sure that Jimmy would have been highly delighted had he actually been the trainer of Milansbar – a record-breaking 5th in this year’s Grand National, with Bryony on board – and had he trained Little Polveir which he himself rode to win the race in 1989. In fact, Milansbar was trained by Neil King and Little Polvier was trained by the late Toby Balding!

Bryony has had some brilliant successes recently, including winning a Grade-I steeplechase, and is a wonderful ambassador for the whole of horse racing, as are her mother and father.

She recently had a bad fall and she was stepped on by a following horse. I am sure that we all wish her a speedy recovery from her injuries.
