May I bring to your readers attention an alarming planning application, which if allowed, will start a wave of similar applications across the South Hams.
The application is for an anemometer adjacent to Torr Quarry. This is to test wind speed and strength and will form the evidence to erect full- sized wind turbines on that site.
The failed application at Buckland-Tout-Saints demonstrated that people power can stop these planning applications, but it also showed how tough and expensive it can be.
Churchstow Parish Council, neighbouring parish councils and residents need to tell South Hams Council that wind turbines aren't wanted here.
This will be an ugly structure, visible for miles around, noisy, with technology and green credentials far from proven.
Worse still, the precedent, if allowed to go ahead, will mean we can expect to see these tu
