The only festival for dogs across the whole of the South West is coming to Dartmouth this weekend.

For the second year, the unique tail-wagging and foot stomping festival, Woofstock UK, will be pawsing in Dartmouth this year for a day of doggy madness.

On Saturday, August 4, at Coronation park, there will be live music, a show ring and a variety of demonstrations including agility, the new doggy sport of Hoopers and the popular Devon and Cornwall Police Dog Training School.

There is an array of awards available for the best service dog, the bravest dog and the Inspiration Award. However, all our fury friends will be treated to an organic, edible entrance ticket supplied by Ammy’s Delights who are travelling all the way from the Netherlands.

A special VIP guest will be attending, The Countess Bathurst, the devoted owner of five dogs, who will be opening the festival, judging some shows and presenting the awards.

Another new edition to this popular festival is the attendance of the Devon and Somerset fire Service who will be supporting the show and carrying out demonstrations with their arson detection dogs.

The action begins at 10am where crowds will be able to browse over a variety of stalls and trade stands.

Once again, the inflatable pub will be making an appearance, keeping humans happy and The Wag and Sniff Inn will be serving pawsecco and dog beer to canine customers.

Ticket prices will be staying the same as last year-£6 for adults and £4 for children (6yrs+) on the gate and cheaper if purchased online in advance. There are also tickets at reduced rates for members of the armed forces and emergency services.
