After a white van ploughed 100 metres into a field, a police helicopter was summoned.

At close to midnight on Christmas, a white van went straight on into a field at a sharp bend near Norton Park, Dartmouth. Although a police helicopter was despatched to try to find the driver who had left the vehicle, the person was not found.

The helicopter was airborne over Norton Park and Townstal between approximately 12.10am and 1am on Boxing Day. The police suspected drink driving but no one has been charged. The vehicle was recovered from the field and police confirmed no action is being taken.
