ELEVEN South Hams producers have been shortlisted for the Devon County Council's Food and Drink Devon awards. Riverford Farm Shop, Staverton; Burts Potato Chips, originally from Kingsbridge; the South Devon Chilli Farm, Loddiswell; Devon Distillery, Totnes; Luscombe Drinks, Buckfastleigh; Bell and Loxton, South Milton; The Millbrook Inn, South Pool; Britannia @ The Beach, Beesands; The Brill Plaice, Dartmouth; The Ashburton Delicatessen, Totnes and the Well Hung Meat Company, Buckfastleigh have all made the short list. Bell and Loxton, South Milton, have made the list for Best Packaging category. Rachel Bell said: 'We are delighted to have been shortlisted for best packaging with Food and Drink Devon. We are very proud of our award winning oil and are delighted that our packaging has now been recognised. Kaz Lobendham from the South Devon Chilli Farm, which was named under Devon Product category, said: 'We are excited that we have been recognised by Food and Drink Devon. It's always great to be able to say that our products are award winning. 'It gives our customers confidence in what they are buying and reassures us that we are staying on the right track. The standards in the food producing community here are very high and the number of really excellent producers in our local area are increasing. 'This means that the South Hams is and continues to be a great destination for the 'foodie' visitor and this trend looks to continue to grow year on year.' Britannia @ The Beach is nominated for Best Bistro and Best Café. Anita Hutchins said: 'We're all very excited about being shortlisted for 2 categories, best bistro and best cafe. The credit has to go to our fantastic team . They have worked tirelessly all season to give consistently good service with a smile, and a great dining experience to all, no matter what time of day or evening you visit us.'
