I refer to John Chalmers letter in the paper recently. We also had very little consultation from the planning officer on the question of floodlights at Kingsbridge College.
Fortunately our local councillor was most helpful and obviously understood the problems, but not listened to by the planning officer. The decision also ignored the fact that the area is an AONB situation. My letter of complaint submitted on August 3, to SHC was not answered until the September 17.
Some of the councillors at the planning meeting didn't even vote on the issue in front of them, but on a general need, presumably relying on the planning officer.
I also agree with Barbara Anderson, when one councillor asked 'how bright is a Lux' not one member could answer the question, not even the case officer, but still they voted. I feel the council should listen to local people and local
councillors more.
