Battlefield History TV, in conjunction with the Keep Museum, regimental museum of the Regiments of Devon and Dorset, Dorchester, has made a film to commemorate the award of the Victoria Cross to a Dartmouth man for his courage during the Battle of the Somme.
Private Theodore Veale, who was later made a corporal, was awarded the VC for his bravery in rescuing Lt Eric Savill who had been wounded in no man’s land on July 20, 1916.
