Dr J Watt, of Mount Boone, Dartmouth, writes:

The Lady Lara is a fine sight in the middle of the river Dart.

What a pity her arrival was spoilt by the incorrect courtesy flag at her masthead.

This should have been the red ensign, but instead the Union flag was flown.

Excusable, but sadly it was upside down – a recognised signal of distress.

Didn’t those on board the pilot launch spot this? How very amateur.
