Paul Lucas, of Victoria Road, Dartmouth, writes:
Last year I commented that no Christmas tree lights were lit up on Christmas morning. And guess what? I walked down Victoria Road at 9.30 on Christmas morning, along the quay, and up to Holdsworth House, where I was preparing lunch for the residents. No Lights on the tree, or boat wash, until around 4pm. Isn’t the tree the main part of the day?
Do the organisers of the town’s Christmas celebrations, or any town event, know where Victoria Road is? It seems that Foss Street is the cutoff for all events. Even the market square seems to have forgotten Christmas week, with most shops closed, as reported in last week’s letters.
At least The market cafe was loyal, although due to work I was unable to visit. The community corner was closed for 10 days due to no buses, resulting in no volunteers.
Hopefully things will start to get back to normal, whatever normal is. Happy new year to you all.
