We lead on news that the owners of a former hotel near Kingsbridge have defended themselves after they were "named and shamed" by the Government for paying staff below the minimum wage.

Our picture story shows youngsters at Malborough and South Huish Primary School who found a thief’s swag bag in their village play field while out picking up litter.

We flag up two stories inside: one about how leading Westcountry women have been inspiring South Hams students by sharing their stories; the other an army veteran who has set his sights on competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics has gone out to South Korea to get a flavour of the event.

As usual there is also the family announcements, public notices, letters to the editor, Village Voice pages, clubs and societies and what’s on, plus much more inside
