SeaMoor Lotto’s very first community lottery draw is about to take place, but you still have time to buy your ticket to support local good causes.

The new local authority-led initiative, SeaMoor Lotto, has a host of local good causes signed up in time for the first online draw to be held on August 4. You can buy tickets by going to the SeaMoor Lotto website and get involved while supporting your local charities and good causes.

Tickets must be purchased by midnight on Friday, August 3, to be included in the first draw.

With over 60 good causes live on the lottery website across South Hams and West Devon, there’s a whole host of great charities and community groups to choose from.

In addition to supporting local good causes, ticket holders stand the chance of winning £25,000 and a range of prizes including: £200 worth of Devon-made dog food from Forthglade; afternoon tea for two at The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock; one of six family swim passes from Fusion Lifestyle or an iPad.

Cllr Keith Wingate, councillor in charge of the lottery, said: “SeaMoor Lotto is a fantastic opportunity to support local good causes that make a difference to our communities.

You still have time to buy a ticket, which also gives you the opportunity to be entered into the grand prize draw.”

For every £1 ticket purchased, 50p goes directly to a local good cause of the ticket holder’s choice and a further 10p from every ticket purchase goes directly to the wider SeaMoor Lotto community fund.

Local causes, signed up to the Lotto, each have their own fundraising page online detailing their good cause, the target they are trying to reach, and what they are fundraising for.

Jenny Rogers, Manager of Ash Rescue Centre, a local horse rescue charity based in Dartmouth, said: “We are really excited to have signed up to SeaMoor Lotto. The online lottery for local good causes is a fantastic way for us to reach new supporters and to help us raise awareness of Ash Rescue Centre.

“The funds received from the lottery ticket sales will help us to build a much needed new barn for the rescue horses we care for in the area.”
