John Polley, of Warfleet, Dartmouth, writes:
Thank you for publishing my earlier letter about faulty telephone lines, November 20, 2015.
I received a wonderful response and was able to write in the strongest terms to BT’s chief executive.
My service provider PlusNet contacted me two days later to ask for an explanation of the problem, and with its help BT was finally dragged kicking
and screaming to address the problem.
As I had been suggesting to BT for 18 months, all the faulty numbers were connected to the same sector, No 22, in the exchange. This has now been replaced and the problem seems to have been resolved.
I should like to thank all those who responded – the strength lay in the number of supporters. With enough ants you can bring down the biggest beast.
What a shame that it takes so much effort to make our big monopolies do their jobs.
