For the last few weeks the road at North Sands was closed while the pumps were clearing the flooded car park.

This caused huge problems for the motorists due to poor road signs and a long difficult detour. Why can't the authorities build a ramp out of wood or sand so that cars can go over the pipes safely?

They certainly do this in Somerset!

I appreciate the need for the pumps to clear the flood water, but it is not rocket science to keep the traffic moving.
