SLAPTON Sands has been playing host to visitors from tropical waters.

A local fisherman spotted a sunfish, which can weigh in at 1,000kg, and the species has also been spotted off the coast of Cornwall. Fisherman Steve Freeman was fishing off Slapton Sands when he spotted the fish.

Visitors to Torcross were also surprised to see a dead turtle had been washed onto the beach on Wednesday.
