June Hannah, of Belmont Road, Ivybridge, write:

Can anyone help us? I have lived in Belmont Road, Ivybridge, for just over five years and the pothole at the bottom of our street has got bigger and bigger by the week.

A few weeks ago, I sent the photos of this pothole to ITV at Westcounty TV and Jonathon Gibson came along and interviewed me and I was featured on the television.

I followed this up with an email to South Hams Council, county councillor Roger Croad, district councillorMike Saltern and Devon Highways.

We have for many years been dealing with all the local councillors about this land which is unadopted since Sign Post Housing developed Bowdens Park.

We have been pushed from pillar to post, told the land belongs to three properties in Western Road as it is at the rear of their gardens, which a local solicitor says is incorrect; told it was Sign Post issue to sort out; told by Cllr Croad that he would give us part of his budget to fix the land – which has now been retracted; told by South Hams Council that it cannot be adopted until it has been bought up to standard; and more recently told by highways department that we are low priority due to servere local weather, which is rubbish as this is an five-year ongoing situation.

To make matters worse, one recent weekend young people from Dame Hannah's tried to access this area to view the residences being built at the rear of Belmont Road in Stray Park only to find it totally impossible to pass with their wheelchairs.

I am at a loss to find anyone out there who is willing to help us. They pass the buck at every turn and my patience has run very thin.
