KINGSBRIDGE earned a place on the map in the world of street dance last weekend when sibling duo, Ariel and Ashton Born, won the British O16 Advanced Duo Championship title. 

They beat prominent dancers from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England to clinch the well-deserved title of the best street dance duo in Britain.

The competition took place in Brean Sands, Somerset, and Kingsbridge Community College students Ariel and Ashton, Jake Feetenby, Hollie Savage and Adel Tchavdarova all attended and between them came away with a selection of medals and trophies.

Ariel and Ashton went on to take second place in their quads category, amid whoops and wolf whistles with their winning choreography. 

Ashton went a stage further to get the runners-up cup for the All-Star category. 

This category is specific to solo dancers who have won in their advanced solo category five times consecutively. 

Ashton, who at 14 years was the youngest dancer among the well-known veterans in that category, did Kingsbridge proud with his massively electrifying performance, which wowed the 3,000-strong audience. 

Armed with adrenaline, he then went on to take second spot in the popping battles after dancing many rounds against very strong and well-known competitors.

Ariel and Ashton, who recently choreographed a winning dance routine for local dance crew 'Estria' from Kingsbridge Community College, also choreographed another winning number for the 018 intermediate dance crew 'Incranium' from Plymouth, of which two members from 'Estria,' Hollie Savage and Adel Tchavdarova, are crew members. 

It was a weekend to remember for these two young Kingsbridge girls, who have never been part of such an extravaganza before, as they clinched fourth place in their team's category. 

To add to Kingsbridge's new street dance fame, Jake Feetenby danced his way to fourth position in the U14 newcomer category. 

Kingsbridge's trophy haul was impressive, with seven trophies and two medals from the dancing duo, Ariel and Ashton, a medal each from Hollie Savage and Adel Tchavdarova, and one trophy from Jake Feetenby.

The judges at the three-day competition were Turbo and Super Malcolm from 'Got to Dance,' Lizzie Gough from 'So You Think You Can Dance', members of Animaineax crew and members of Flawless crew, to name but a few.
