Pauline Cole of Chapel Lane, Malborough, writes:
All Saints Art Club, Marlborough, held a hugely successful strawberry tea fundraising event for breast cancer care in Malborough Church.
Friends and family turned out in droves for Pauline's event on Thursday, June 14 and indulged in lots of tasty treats, raising £250 for breast cancer care. Highlights of the event included a games afternoon in the Church with numerous different games.
Breast cancer care's strawberry tea campaign - sponsored by Seasonal Berries, which represents strawberry growers of Britain - runs from June 1, to August 31, and raises money to support 50,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. It's an easy and fun way to raise money for the charity and the perfect excuse to get together with friends, family or colleagues.
Pauline said of her event 'A huge thank you goes out to the generosity of all the people who came along and showed their support for breast cancer care. After this year's success I'm already thinking what I can do next year and hope everyone will be able to come along and enjoy all the strawberry treats once again!'
In the UK, someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes. However big or small your Strawberry tea event, every penny raised will enable breast cancer care to continue providing free expert information and professional support to anyone affected by this life threatening disease.
Anyone wishing to hold their own event can register now for a free strawberry tea fundraising pack full of ideas, games, invitations and recipes.
