A READER has sent us this photo of an unidentified metal something on Lannacombe Beach, wondering if anyone could identify it.

The person who sent it in, who wished to remain anonymous, called it a ‘metre-wide iron object masquerading as a rock among rocks, exposed at low tide’.

Last April we ran a similar story when a spherical object appeared at low tide on the same beach, thought by discoverer Nick Osbourne to be a paravane - a device used to sweep for mines during the First World War, so the beach has a history of exposing strange objects.
