This Mothering Sunday residents and visitors will be able to treat their mum to a relaxing day out exploring a beautiful private estate in aid of St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.

St Luke’s will be hosting a special early spring opening at Gnaton Hall on Sunday, March 26, as they launch their Open Gardens 2017.

The private estate near Yealmpton will have more than five acres of beautiful gardens to explore, including a spectacular display of daffodils, walled gardens and grand magnolia trees. Enjoy a peaceful woodland walk, before treating your mum to some homemade cake and tea on the terraced lawns, while enjoying the stunning scenery. Plant sales will also be available on the day.

This year’s St Luke’s Open Gardens from March 26 to September 10 gives you the chance to explore 23 varied gardens, many not normally open to the public. Sponsored by McClure Solicitors, the events offer a unique insight into garden planning and planting schemes.

Last year, the Open Gardens programme raised more than £40,000 for St Luke’s, enough to cover the cost of almost 200 home visits to families across the South Hams, Plymouth and East Cornwall.

The garden will be open between 2pm and 5pm, with an admission fee for adults, but free for children under 16. Parking is available and dogs are welcome on leads.
