Celebrations are planned to mark the 700th birthday of the oldest church in Dartmouth and Townstal.

St Clement’s Church will be celebrating 700 years this month. On Friday, November 23, there will be a Celebration Sung Eucharist at 7pm.

The Rev’d Simon Wright is returning as the preacher for the service at St Clement’s. All are welcome and drinks and nibbles will be served after the service.

People who have had a connection with the church have been invited back for the service.

The celebrations do not stop there. On Saturday, November 24, from 10am onwards the church will be open for refreshments, lunch, music and displays.

There will also be children’s activities with craft tables and games plus displays from community groups who use the church and the community hall.

This will give people the opportunity to come and see what’s going on in the community.

Any money raised from the events will be put towards improving the kitchen in the church.

A plea has been released to enquire if anyone has any historical pictures of the church or it’s surroundings.

If you do please contact the parish office for them to be scanned and used for the celebration or drop them into the office. To contact the office please call 01803 835540 or email [email protected].
