The Rev Mark Lawrence, methodist superintendent minister and chairman of the Wordwise Trustees, Kingsbridge, writes: On behalf of the Wordwise Trustees I write in response to a letter that was put under our door during September. We acknowledge your strength of feeling and do not want to add to your obvious hatred towards God and his people. The one you describe in your letter is not the loving, heavenly father Christians know in Jesus Christ, but appears to be a description of the devil, who has come to kill, steal and destroy. We know from what the Bible teaches that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus Christ came to show us what God is really like. He heals, forgives and longs to show mercy to those who are prepared to turn their backs on their sin and seek his help, to be a people who will dare to demonstrate his loving kindness, grace and forgiveness. To that end we want you to know that there are many Christians within Kingsbridge who are praying for you. We at Wordwise, on behalf of the Christian community, pray that you will receive the inner healing and peace of mind that only Christ can give. If you would like to meet with me to talk further about any of the issues in your letter I would be happy to spend some time with you.
