The Community Cafe in the Salvation Army Church building in Ivybridge was transformed into the Holy Land for a nativity production.
It was the brainchild of Mavis who is one of the volunteers and was organised by husband and wife Lieutenants Ruth and Ian Hammond.
Ruth explained: “It was the first time we held a nativity in the cafe. We wanted people to remember the true meaning of Christmas. It was a wonderful event with a few funny surprises along the way. Around 15 volunteers took part.”
They hope to organise a programme of events such as the Harvest afternoon tea in 2022 but planning is on hold at the moment because of Covid.
