the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival saw people flock from all over the South Hams and further afield to see all the amazing things on offer over the weekend.

With food stalls all over the quay, serving up everything from World Food Cafe fare to Aunt Sal's Butter Fudge and everything in between, local producers from all over the South Hams showed off their culinary skills.

Lemon Jelli offered freshly made pizzas and crepes; Rose Farm had the hog roast angle covered; Favis of Salcombe had crab delicacies; South Devon Chilli Farm offered sauces, preserves and chilli chocolate; and Mill Valley Bakery showed off its hand-made bakery products, with much more besides.

Heron Valley's fruit juices and ciders, Quercus Devon Ales' locally brewed beers and the two bars kept everyone merry throughout.

The quality of the music was higher than ever before this year, with Land of the Giants playing on Saturday night, off the back of their epic 2014 festival tour, including Glastonbury, Bestival, Boomtown and Wilderness, ending as headliners in Ireland at the mighty Knockanstockan Festival.

Aftersun brought the house down on Friday night, with local festival-goers Freddie Burwell and Victoria Millar ending up on stage with the band as they entertained with their energetic take on some '80s classics. Next month they are supporting Madness on tour.

The Boozy Bloozers also rocked the crowd on Saturday, along with many other acts that kept everyone in the town jumping and dancing until well into the early hours.

2015 saw the first Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival Kids' Zone, with free workshops offering some brilliant local outdoor activity groups, including Forest and Beach, NatureMake and the Slapton Ley Field Centre and National Nature Reserve, as well as craft sessions, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Steve Mammatt, one of the organisers of the festival, said: 'It was excellent – the rain didn't put people off and they were still giving it large at the end of the night. It just gets better every year.

'We keep putting more into it – we had the Kids Zone this year, which the kids loved, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

'The traders loved it and some sold out early, so we're all really pleased. Here's to the next year.'

All in all, everyone had a fabulous weekend full of delicious local food, entertainment and merriment: a great party for the people of Kingsbridge.
