TOWN centre businesses in Ivybridge have an action-packed few days in store for locals as half term coincides with Halloween at the end of this week.
Ivybridge Chamber of Commerce is organising a team fancy dress competition alongside a pumpkin carving contest, both to be judged in Glanvilles Mill this Saturday, October 29 at 2.30pm.
Local business owners are calling on everyone in Ivybridge to get involved, and hoping the chance of winning £100 for a chosen charity or local club or society will tempt people down.
The cash is the prize in the fancy dress contest, open to teams of four people including at least one adult. Entry is free and open to anyone, so dust off your spooktacular Halloween fancy dress and get a few friends, family members or colleagues together for a fun afternoon.
At the same time, eager carvers are invited to bring their creepy pumpkin creations down to Glanvilles Mill to be judged. Again, this is open to anyone and entry is free.
Ivybridge shops are also running a range of spooky half term activities for youngsters, like a scavenger hunt and spot the Halloween picture in the shop window.
Fancy dress competition entry forms are available from Footnote Shoe Shop, Jaz Interiors and Erme View Pet Supplies, or by calling 01752 691216 or emailing [email protected] .
