The visitors will be joining TV chef Matt Tebbutt and a host of other top names from the world of food as they celebrate the Salcombe Crabfest 2017, taking place this Sunday, April 30.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Salcombe and is sponsored by Favis of Salcombe, which has been supplying crab and blue lobster to some of the country’s finest hotels and restaurants since 1972.
Coast and Country Cottages are also proud to be sponsoring the event which last year saw 3,000 people attracted to the town, which is regarded to be located in one of the world’s best areas for superb shellfish.
Celebrity TV chef Matt Tebbutt will be leading the line-up for a host of top names cooking up a treat for all food lovers! Matt presents the award winning Food Unwrapped programme on Channel 4 and is also a lead presenter of Saturday Kitchen on BBC1.
There will be a number of cooking demonstrations from top chefs, including: Allister Bishop, South Sands’ Executive Chef, who will be using his decades of experience to create masterpieces to delight the taste buds!
Joseph Robinson will also be on hand to tempt your appetite with his incredible reputation for “pop up dinners and spice based banquets”.
Head Chef Andy Richardson, who joined The Oyster Shack team in 2014, is also cooking up a number of treats having been a key pioneer for using sustainable and locally caught produce.
The lead chef for cookery demonstrations, at this year’s Crabfest, will be award winning chef and cookery author Jane Baxter. Her dishes are well known to food lovers everywhere as her Wild Artichokes Food and Events in Kingsbridge are exceptionally well regarded for “providing exciting and delicious dining and food for every occasion”.
Last year’s event saw strong support for local charities which benefitted from the generosity of visitors and exhibitors. More than 40 exhibitors were able to satisfy the palate - with some of the world’s best shellfish from the enriched waters of the South Devon area.
