HUNDREDS of people lined the streets to celebrate this year's Modbury May fair. The traditional crowning of the May Queen, Millie Fox, and the hanging of the glove proved as popular as ever, while the Modbury mile race saw dozens of participants in fancy dress. Organiser Paul Romney was keen to congratulate everyone who took part and paid tribute to the huge local support. 'Monday was very successful. We had one of the largest number of entrants for the mile, which was strongly contested. It is always very well supported. 'We had a very busy morning with the Maypole dancing and the school's choir. It was a really successful day, all good fun.'
