PETER SWIRE, of Clarence Hill, Dartmouth, writes:

If you are thinking of spending your sunset years in the warm tranquillity of Devon, think again – unless you go to the major centres of Plymouth, Torbay or Exeter.

Only in these conurbations will you find anything resembling a half-decent health service. Outside these areas we have no cottage hospitals, pitiful access to GPs, miles to go to find a minor injuries unit and an erratic bus service to get you there.

Go back to whence you came if you value your future or unless you have a well underwritten and generous health policy.
