Cllr Stephen Smith, of Dartmouth Town Council, writes: Can I add to the many accolades given to this year's Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta as being the best in living memory. The whole volunteer team must be highly commended for their efforts this year. According to my family, which is ultra-critical as regards entertainment, David Rowland provided the best fair ever. And finally, the tribute to the Red Arrows' 50th display season anniversary will remain in our memories. The firework display played to the last musical note, which is not easy. So a sincere thank you to all. No doubt the Regatta committee is already planning 2015, but 2014 will be very hard to beat.
