W T NOYCE of Newbridge, Kingsbridge, writes:

One of the most interesting new features introduced in your newspapers has been the regular pages of photographs of local views and incidents in our area.

Not only has it sometimes shown shots of places that I did not immediately recognise but it made me aware of the large number of your readers who take excellent photographs.

Kingsbridge and District Camera Club is long-established with a membership of varied ages, diverse abilities, interests and photographic skills.

Our aim is to improve enjoyment and appreciation of photography, to develop and enhance photographic techniques, from camera skills to image processing.

I feel that your contributing photographers might not be aware of our camera club and while I would not want to appear to be judging their images, membership might help them in one way or another.

Our programme starts on Thursday, September 13, and runs weekly until May.

A special feature this season is a series of lectures by your newspaper photographer Greg Taylor – nine sessions covering control of the camera, moving away from auto settings, understanding camera work and what is needed to take better photographs.

Full details of this and our complete weekly programme can be found on our website http://www.kdcc.org.uk">www.kdcc.org.uk.
