A SCHOOL club came back from the summer holidays to find a letter from Buckingham Palace waiting for them.
Each of the children drew a portrait of Her Majesty and wrote their own special message to her, before posting it to the palace.
When they returned to school they found a letter from a Lady in Waiting, written on the Queen's behalf, thanking them for their kind wishes.
Stowford teaching assistant Suzanne Fitzpatrick, who is one of the team of staff who run the club for the pupils, said: 'It was really exciting for the children to get a response, especially as they had worked so hard on the card.
'All of the children who helped to create the card will receive a copy of the letter.
'We try to come up with a range of challenging and inspiring activities at the club, so we certainly have our work cut out to top this.'
