GARY LOBB, Dartmouth AFC chairman, Davis Road, Dartmouth, writes: As many of you may know, Dartmouth AFC club captain, Kevin Causley suffered a break to both of the bones in one of his lower legs in a league match in January. On Easter Sunday, Dartmouth AFC hosted a fundraising charity event in aid of Kevin's two chosen charities: Parkinson's UK and Rowcroft Hospice. A Longcross Legends versus a Kevin Causley XI started the day off and was played in good spirit, and it was particularly pleasing to see so many former players supporting Kevin. A much anticipated auction followed, which included signed Premier League boots, shirts, gloves and tickets to the Liverpool versus Chelsea game. There were many volunteers that made the day a huge success. But I would especially like to thank Scott Mcroy who arranged the auction prizes through his footballing contacts. Along with the auction, raffle and other generous donations the club raised £4,530. Kevin was overwhelmed with the support and the generosity of those that attended, and, on behalf of the club, I would like to thank everyone that helped to make the day a huge success and raise a staggering amount of money for two charities close to Kevin and his family.
