As two NHS professionals, for over 30 and 21 years experience respectively, we are writing to convey our extreme anxiety the GPs and other commissioners group may consider commissioning services from private companies, for example Virgin Health Care.

It is widely know that private providers so far, have very seriously run down the quality of provision and quantity posing grave risks to health of their patients.

We are writing to draw attention to this danger and impress upon the local public and the Devon County Commissioners the absolute necessity of maintaining these services within NHS provision.

Generally, the NHS services are of high quality.
