Do you remember Boots Library in Dartmouth?
Boots the chemist once had subscription libraries within its stores. They operated very successfully from 1899 to 1966, but their heyday was during the inter-war years, when more than 400 branches flourished throughout the UK.
While researching for my book, Lipsticks and Library Books: The Story of Boots Booklovers’ Library, I was contacted by a lady who remembers borrowing books from Boots Library in Dartmouth when she was a teenager.
