Salcombe residents are being urged to make any comments on the Neighbourhood Plan before the end of the consultation period.

The Salcombe Neighbourhood Plan is now at the pre-regulation 14 stage with the consultation period now closing on April 5.

Peter Lewis, Salcombe Neighbourhood Plan, said: “We, like Thurlestone Parish have a range of policies informed by community surveys.

“Neighbourhood Planning a subject very much in the news at the moment and with much more to come as Towns and Villages across our South Devon AONB increasingly bring their plans forward for consultation and implementation.

“Affordable Housing for local working people remains a major issue across our region and is addressed in the draft Salcombe Neighbourhood Plan, with delivery models to date, in the main, having failed to provide truly affordable housing commensurate with local incomes.

“New delivery mechanisms and policies are necessary to ensure proper provision in the future.

“There has already been a good response to our consultation however we do not want anyone in Salcombe to miss out on the opportunity to inform the plan so could I urge your Salcombe readers to submit comments online via www.salcombeplan.org or using the form sent to every address in the parish.”
