Over 50 students took their British Theatre Dance Association(BTDA) examinations in ballet, tap and jazz last month achieving an 100 per cent pass rate.

The students from Dartmouth School of Dance received top scores of distinctions and merits at the end of July.

Shannon Ormrod and Molly Jones achieved over 90 per cent for their ballet and tap exam and achieved a special platinum award.

Principal of the dance school, Joleen Wood is very proud with the students results and has praised their hard work.

Children from as young as three took their exams for the first time.

Another student, Olivia Merrifield auditioned and was selected to be part of a ballet boost programme where she will train with professional and prestigious teachers in the Classical Ballet Industry.

Daisy Jacob and Shannon Ormrod were also selected to dance with the South West Theatre Ballet Company and will be performing in its production of Beauty and the Beast in November.

A former student, Immarni Slaney is already training at the Elmhurst Royal Ballet school and doing very well.

The school holds performances at the Plymouth Dance festival and at bi-annual shows at the Flavel Theatre.
