Between 10.50am and 11.30am, the Dartmouth Higher Ferry was stopped about 100yds from the Kingswear bank. Chris Warbury was returning from collecting a car and joined the ferry on the Kingswear side. He explained: “There was a warning alarm just after the ferry left the bank. The crew had to shut everything down to investigate. It took about 40 minutes. All the passengers were pretty laid back about it.”
Passengers and vehicles were marooned on the Higher Ferry for 40 minutes today.
