I recently went to the main town car park and found I had to type in my car registration number. I assume this is to stop people offering their ticket to a stranger if they have some time left on it.
In my opinion, this is a terrible thing to do.
When I was small, my dad would always do this kind, thoughtful thing as we left a carpark, it brought happiness to everyone and, of course, I ended up doing the same thing, which my own children saw and learned from. But not anymore in Dartmouth!
I now have to explain to my children how some people, in order to make a little more money, have removed this part of British social behaviour.
That is a very high price to pay, enjoy the future your building because unless we roll back these stupid ideas, it’s going to be grim.
Please change the machine back, I don’t want to live in a society that has lost all sense of perspective like this.
