ROLF BURNIE, of Thurlestone, writes:
I chuckled a little at Damian Corbett's attack on my Christian Comment article recently. Why? I wasn't writing about creation or evolution, but a post Easter article about our need for a divine makeover – just the way our computers do as they likewise go awry. A short modern day parable in other words.
Of course if Damian Corbett does want to criticise my reference to genetic entropy it might help him to know that today virtually all human geneticists agree that generation by generation man is indeed degenerating genetically, with the most definitive findings being published just three years ago in Michael Lynch's, 'Rate, molecular spectrum, and consequences of human mutation.'
Humanity is indeed not what it once was, and the longer we exist, the worse the problem.
That is probably true for virtually all life on earth, and good scientific evidence for the biblical record but yet more bad news for devotees to the theory of evolution.
More importantly it all points to our need for a divine makeover – which is what I was writing about. Thank God for Jesus and that first Easter!
