LINDA HOWARD of Dart-mouth Pet Foods, Market Street, writes: BID director Kate Ryder saying 'I can't see the point of you being here' if you don't want the BID was not a very nice thing to read, Chronicle, May 8. How condescending was that? You see, there are more businesses in Dartmouth that didn't want the BID, as she knows but chooses to ignore. But a handful of outsiders with too much time on their hands went ahead with it anyway, so now we're stuck with it and all the upset and hardship it has caused. Ask poor Kirsty Sargeant in Home Fabrics who had the bailiffs in – not very nice for a group of people who are supposed to be helping small businesses, wouldn't you agree? And as for the seagulls, well, what a waste of money. Some might go, but they will just come back. You see, they were born here, a bit like us locals. We don't like being scared off in our own town. Golden rule: don't upset the locals, we bite back.
